Girls on Fire Australia: Igniting Potential, Empowering Futures
Girls on Fire is returning to Gunaikurnai Country and will be hosted by GLaWAC at the Bell's Stadium in Rawson.
The 2-day program will follow this year's NAIDOC theme, "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud," which resonates deeply with the spirit of our program. This theme celebrates the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture, with fire symbolising the profound connection to Country, community, and the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are excited to have secondary school students from right across Gippsland, join us for two days of empowerment, education, and inspiration. This program is not only about acquiring firefighting and emergency response skills but also about building a sense of community, leadership, and resilience among young women.
Throughout the day, you will engage in a variety of activities designed to challenge and inspire you. From fire safety drills and team-building exercises to leadership workshops, each session is crafted to empower you with valuable skills and knowledge.
Please put in your expression of interest, we would love to hear from you! Some transport options will be available.
The 2-day program is FREE for all participants including lunches and snacks.
