Sponsored by Principal Partner, National Australia Bank, our multi-agency 1-day Fire and Resilience Program will be hosted at Cairns Fire Station on Monday, July 15th. This jam-packed program for the students of AFL House Cape York will include hands-on activities, fire & emergency experiences, facilitated by inspiring mentors and volunteers on the Girls on Fire program. We can't accept any more registrations for Participants, but we are still accepting registrations for Volunteers.

Join us for a unique collaboration evenĀ as Girls on Fire Australia connects with the Aviation sector to host a NAIDOC week event at Cairns Fire Station.Ā Ā Get ready for a day filled with adrenaline-pumping activities, empowering workshops, simulated emergenciesĀ and hands-on experiences that will leave you inspired and equipped to conquer any challenge.

Program Highlights:

LiveĀ Fire Extinguishment, Hose Branches & Water Supply: Take charge as you revisit fire science in a practical way. Learn to make fire the traditional way and make decisions about the ways to manage or extinguish them.

Search and Rescue Scenario: Gear up for simulated search and rescue scenario. Learn to navigate through challenging environments, wearing personal protective clothing and working in a team.

Forest Fire Management & Cultural Site Protection: Delve into the critical aspects of forest fire management and cultural site protection. Gain insights into land care practices and explore strategies for safeguarding cultural heritage sites amidst natural disasters.

Road Crash Rescue: Step into the shoes of first responders as you learn the intricacies of road crash rescue operations. Discover life-saving techniques and hone your skills in managing emergency situations on the road.

CPR/AED/Injury Management: Empower yourself with essential life-saving skills. Master the art of CPR, learn to operate Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and gain expertise in injury management techniques.
