Get ready for a full day of hands-on learning, teamwork, and empowerment at the Girls Fire & Resilience Program! This RIEP funded program is for young women aged 14–19 who want to step into the world of fire and emergency services and build skills to thrive in any situation.

Date: Tuesday, 11th November 2025
Location: Fire and Rescue NSW, Dungog Fire Station, 51 Common Rd, Bendolba NSW 2420

Program Highlights:

Practical Activities – Round 1

  • Crew 1: Master hose rolling and live reel techniques.

  • Crew 2: Learn about different fire extinguishing methods and their uses.

  • Crew 3: Navigate the BA Maze to sharpen your search and rescue skills.

Lunch Break: Enjoy on-site catering and presentations on emergency management.

Practical Activities – Round 2

  • Crew 1: Experience the Burn Table and learn land management and dry firefighting techniques.

  • Crew 2: Gain hands-on First Aid and patient care skills.

  • Crew 3: Explore car crash rescue operations.

  • Optional: Learn radio communications, map reading, and bush navigation.

Debrief Session: Reflect on home and community emergency readiness, ask questions, and plan your next steps toward empowerment.

Activities Include:

  • Search and Rescue Scenarios: Navigate challenging terrain, use firefighting gear, and save lives.

  • Forest Fire Management & Cultural Site Protection: Learn land care practices and strategies for safeguarding cultural heritage.

  • Road Crash Rescue: Develop life-saving skills for emergency situations.

  • CPR, AED & Injury Management: Build essential life-saving abilities.

  • Fire Extinguisher Workshop: Gain practical experience using fire extinguishers.
